I love Lifestyle Photography. I want to document our life, real things that we do, but it a clean way. Not a snapshot, where you just pick up your camera and take an image without thinking. I want some of the distractions removed so I (and others) can focus on the story. It’s story-telling. Sometimes I clean (or throw things out of the area in a mad rush!) before I know we will be doing something that I know I want to take specific photos of, and others, like this, just happened on its own. Lucy had taken these dolls and lined them up so neatly on the windowsill. It was so sweet, and just a moment I wanted captured, so I took a few photos of them. A few hours later, she went and started playing with them, and I knew I wanted to add to the story. I love these little details, these little things that are going to be gone so quickly. That is my favorite thing about photography. It captures these little moments in time that we never get back.
