I struggle with larger family groups and try to not take on too many. I feel like it’s too hard to get images that are authentic moments and not just focus on the “Christmas card” images for every possible grouping. The H family was an exception. Fun, real, quirky. We shot at Anini Beach and had a fun little downpour for a few minutes and they just went with it. It makes everything better to just go with the flow during your family session. Be real, be vulnerable, try to enjoy the moment. I think we were able to capture that in this amazing family. Some of them live in Texas and they brought me maple bacon nuts because they felt like it represented where they were from. How awesome is that? I have the best clients in the world!
