These two and their sweet little girl were a joy to photograph during their Kauai elopement wedding. It was kind of last minute, but everything fell in to plan. The weather had some dark stormy clouds, but it ended up staying mostly dry. The cloudy skies actually created some really cool lighting.
There is something special to me about an elopement. Maybe I feel like that because my husband and I eloped ourselves. I do regret not having family there sometimes, but it was also nice to not have so much stress and drama beforehand. I really love being able to be there for these quiet and intimate moments in people’s lives.
I hear some people say that we shouldn’t talk about how life is hard, because it makes people focus on the bad. I disagree. When I hear other people admit it can be so dang hard sometimes, it helps me to not feel alone in the world. To know I’m not the only one who feels that their head is barely above water most days. But being involved in other people’s lives; in their beautiful, sacred moments is an amazing gift. Because then I do see the beauty in this life, and there is SO MUCH BEAUTY in it. And I’m always inspired on my drive home to try to make our moments matter more in my own life.
