This month’s blog circle, which is made up with some of my earliest and most precious photography friends, is on Scenes From…is about “my town.” Considering how small all of Kauai is, and the little town I live in isn’t my favorite part of Kauai, I cheated and am posting scenes from a hike in an amazing part of Kauai.
Maha`ulepu Beach is awesome. It’s hard to get to, gates to the entrance close at 6pm and don’t open until sunrise, so I don’t tend to get there by driving. If you head up the rock at Shipwreck cliff, there is a hike all along the coast that takes you to Maha`ulepu Beach. That’s my favorite way to get there because the views are breathtaking. It’s 4 miles round trip, but not a particularly hard hike, at least compared to most other hikes on Kauai. It’s definitely worth the effort. We had Lucy tag along with us. She said she hated it and that she would never come hiking with me again, but once we were done she said she loved it. Silly girl.
My good friend since high school, Joe, was visiting and I had to take him on this hike. He’s a fantastic landscape photographer and I knew he would love these views. I hope you guys enjoy them too!
Don’t forget to check out my friend Erica’s take on this month’s theme. I’m excited to see her views in El Paso! Follow through the circle until you end up back here with me. Thanks for following along with us on our blogging journey together.
So gorgeous!
Will you be my personal guide when I come back to Kauai for a visit? So beautiful!
Erin, I look forward to your images so much because it takes me back to when we were on our honeymoon. I can’t wait to get back to Hawaii some day. How do you not spend all day every day at those gorgeous beaches?
Stunning images Erin! Take me there! I especially love the one of Lucy squatting down!?
Beautiful. You show the colors so well. You make me miss the Pacific Ocean.
