I have a hard time blogging sessions on a normal day, but especially when I really love what we made. It means I have to try to narrow things down, which I’m not great at. How do I choose which images to share? I love them all, but obviously too many photos can be overwhelming.
This session was kind of pure chaos. The two year-old wanted only to be in the water. One thing I try to explain in sessions is that the toddlers are going to run the show. I absolutely do NOT want to make any kids cry to try to get a “perfect” shot. I want this to truly be a fun experience for everyone involved, even if it comes down to it being a little bit crazy. I think there’s magic here and I’m incredibly proud of this session. This family and this session were amazing and I’m so grateful that they trusted me to capture their family as is. I know for me personally, I want this kind of stuff, way more than the forced cheesy grins with everyone looking at the camera. These kids will grow up with these joy-filled moments to look at forever and it will represent the time they spent on Kauai, even if they won’t really remember the actual experience. I know it may sound a little sappy, but I can’t help it. I’m kind of a sappy person. Capturing your family’s memories is personal to me. It’s not something I take lightly. I try to do the very best I can to show you how beautiful and amazing your families are. I hope you guys can feel the love in the images here.
