The G Family were a joy to work with for their Kauai family photos. It seems more like play, in many ways, because we had so much fun and we just literally run around and play. I’m not one to keep people to one area, especially with little boys and sand and water. They NEED to run around! I love being able to capture movement, exploration, wonder, joy. When you relax and just trust the process, magic happens.
I promise, your child is not going to be the worst one I’ve ever seen, although honestly, kids are usually awesome at my sessions. They feel the emotions the adults are feeling, so if you’re stressing and worrying about their behavior, it can make it worse. I want to get to know you child or children and play with them, and have them play with you. Yes, this means we get a little sandy, or dirty or wet. And technically, it can be “imperfect”. But sessions like that, and especially the memories you create with your family in the process, it’s perfect. That’s what this is all about to me, and what I want to be able to capture for you.
The Gs mentioned that they loved my creativity, which was awesome to be able to feel like I was able to explore and really shoot what I felt, but also so.much.pressure! Ahh! I always worry about letting people down, but I went in with my whole heart. We made beautiful images together, and beautiful memories, with their love and openness and my willingness to play.
