The D family visited Kauai from California AND Florida. I love seeing extended families together. Erin’s little family and her parents were here and we had so much fun capturing everyone interacting and playing. I loved that Erin said that while she was hoping for images of the boys happy, she was good capturing them as they were that day. I believe that’s vital for a great session.
Sometimes your child won’t want to cooperate, or smile perfectly at the camera. That’s okay! The point of the sessions are to be real, have fun, snuggle if you can, and go with the flow. The awesome thing is, having a 17-year-old child now, the times when everything didn’t go “perfectly” in the past are often the things that mean a lot to me now. It’s helped me learn so much about letting go of what I expect and embracing what is. It’s definitely something I’ve come to accept and embrace as time goes by. And doesn’t this session show how beautifully things can go when you let go and just live in the moment? I definitely think so.
