I’m having a lot of fun playing with light lately and even a new camera for this month’s Project 10. I bought a Rolleiflex, which is the camera Vivian Maier used, made in the 1950’s. I’ve been pretty obsessed with it after watching her documentary, and then we had our family photos taken by the amazing Jonathan Canlas, who also shoots with one. I was hooked after that. It’s such a unique camera and look, and it also shoots in square format so it’s been cool to try to frame my photos differently than I’m used to.
I also have photos of my whole family too, so I am so excited. That is not something that happens often for me with this project. It’s the everyday type of stuff; random bits of life, with sleep, work, and play, even our cute dog in pretty light.
Project Ten is made up of a group of talented photographers who are determined to document their own lives and not just the lives of their clients. I just love the look of your images… the film quality is so unique, but your style is so classically beautiful.
