I’m super excited about this month’s Project 10.
I’ve been waiting to share these photos of my oldest baby girl. Sienna is 17, and graduating from high school in just a couple of weeks. She’s not in my Project 10 images often, because she’s always off doing her own thing. So to be able to have 10 images of her, that we shot together, are extremely precious to me.
I can’t believe that we’re here.
I vividly remember her birth, and the feeling of being a new, frightened, overwhelmed 19 year-old mother. We’ve grown up together, Sienna and I. She’s so incredibly beautiful, inside and out. She’s talented, determined, she frustrates me and she makes me feel like I will burst with joy watching her become such an amazing human being. I cannot explain the bittersweet feeling of this time. Here, but almost gone.
I really love that she insisted we shoot these on film.
No way was digital good enough for her senior pics and it makes me feel incredibly happy that she values what I do, that she notices and loves the things I do, like the look and feel of film images. It’s not that digital wouldn’t still have been amazing; there’s just something I can’t explain that I feel when I see film images and she sees it too.
Sienna, you are the love of my life.
I adore you and am so incredibly humbled and thankful to be your mother. I’m so grateful to have had the privilege of watching you grown up. Baby girl, you have such a beautiful future ahead of you, and we will always be here, having your back. Love you to the moon and back.

These are so beautiful, Erin! I know you are so proud of her; I can barely imagine my oldest graduating high school!
