Here’s a link to a Pinterest board for some ideas for color combos when deciding what to wear for your session. I love color and think it looks amazing against the neutral colors at the beach. If you’re not a big color person, neutrals with pops of color also look nice. Avoid black and white in general (cream, navy or dark gray look better), large logos, and matching clothing. I love small patterns; polka dots, stripes, plaids. It’s a great idea to pick several complementary colors and find variations of those to mix up among the family members. The majority of my clients go barefoot, so don’t worry about shoes.
I really love the less formal look at sessions. Nice t-shirts/shorts for guys, and sundresses or shorts/a cute tank for ladies are never wrong. Unless you really love and want them, collared shirts aren’t necessary. If we do a mid-day beach session, you wear beach wear and play in the water.
It’s really important to wear something that you love and feel comfortable in because if you’re uncomfortable that can show in your images. Don’t feel like you must have the perfect outfits to have amazing images. They’re just there to compliment. It’s most important for you to have fun and be yourself! We will very likely get dirty, sandy and wet so wear something you would be okay doing that in. Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have about what to wear to your photo session. I love talking about this!
